Show & Tell - October 4, 2014

Another fun day at Fabric Fun Arts & Crafts.  We had five new members sign in and one guest (Lois Rose's sister visiting for the week.) It's so nice to see new ladies coming in to join us.  Welcome all.

B.J. Herter began by showing enhancements to the sweater she showed last week.  She has added leaves to the sleeves.

Next she showed a wall hanging she made with leaves on pre-quilted fabric, showing how easy it can be to create something beautiful.

Her third item was a clever, easy pumpkin, made with a fat quarter wrapped around a toilet paper roll, with a rolled up paper bag as the stem holding in 2 leaves.  All this was done with no sewing and no glue!

Kay Flanagan was anxious to show a fidget quilt made by Gretchen Nonnemacher, so she went next.

Chris Leedy rejoined our group after a long absence and showed a pretty applique mat.

Lois Rose was next up, with a doggie bed finished,

a girl's butterfly quilt for donation,

and a king-size quilt with bears, fish and eagles she just finished as a gift for her nephew and his wife.

Audrey Philips came with her completed projects from last week's lesson - an apron and a matching pillow cover.

Audrey also showed the cowled t-shirt she made and offered to run a demo on how to do this some week.

Kathy Jones brought showed two chenille pillows, a small test one and a large one, going to her grandson.

Donna Pachy has completed her next monthly panel - October.

Eileen DiSanto finished her apron project

and a pretty table runner.

Pat Pipa showed a table runner too.

Patty Cooke was back with us and showed a lovely baby quilt.

Donna Risman brought a wall hanging and a project bag.

Joyce Yarborough made 2 aprons and her very first doggie bed - a big one.

Winnie DiPastino was up last, showing a crocheted blanket that wasn't quite finished, but that will be donated before our next meeting.

After show & tell, Kandie Stedman led the group in making little paper envelopes to hold tea bags.  These were decorated with flowers punched from paint sample papers and tied with ribbon.  These would make nice little party favors. Thanks Kandie.

Next week we do not have the meeting room because the pottery club is having an all afternoon event. Many of the ladies will be going on an outing to Sew Many Things and Hobby Lobby instead.  If you didn't get a chance to sign up, but you want to join the fun, meet the group at Sea Breeze before 9am on Saturday. There are 7 ladies who have volunteered as drivers, so there is room for a few more riders.  It should be fun.
