Show & Tell - December 13, 2014

Today was our club's annual Christmas party. The club supplied sandwiches, potato salad, and drinks, and various members brought desserts.  After we enjoyed our holiday lunch, we started our usual show & tell.

Eileen DiSanto was first up.  She made a set of the Christmas Tree folded napkins we learned about a few weeks ago
and a lovely Christmas wall hanging.
Darlene Marks was next, showing another lovely table runner.
Kathy Jones showed the finished donation quilt she has been working on

Some doggie toys she made for a friend's dog

and the block she made, inspired by Lu Karatzas' block last week.

Carol Riggs showed a hanging wooden bird made by a neighbor for the Bexley fund drive. It didn't sell during the sale day, so she offered it to anyone who wished o make a donation. (It went quickly.)

Lu Karatzas and Ellen Hein worked together last week to finish backing this donation quilt.

Lu also showed her completed club name tag, embellished with music and other symbols representing her life.  Nice work Lu.

Maureen Wilson made 2 more "formal" men's aprons for the men who will be doing the clean up work at her holiday party.

Pat Pipa brought in a finished  doggie bed.

This brought the number of doggie beds in our storage to 12, so Lois Rose took them all to deliver to the Marion County Animal Center on Tuesday.  (They were very happy to get them.)
B.J.Herter showed her completed quilt.
as did JoyStanton
New member Grace Ell showed her very first attempt at crochet - a baby blanket for a new grand child.

After show & tell we played some Christmas games.  I've never seen these ladies so quiet as they worked on the games.

The first was a Christmas music trivia game and the first person to get the most correct answers was Kathy Jones, shown here with her prize collectable pin cushion.

The winner of the second game a word search, was our British friend Marie Bray.  By coincidence, the prize for this challenge was a tea pot pin cushion.

It seemed like everyone had a good time at our party.

Although many of our ladies are going to be away for the holidays, we are still meeting this coming Saturday (12/20)  Pat Pipa has a project lined up for us - a cathedral ornament.
Everyone will need 2 squares of fabric 6 inches and two Squares of contrasting fabric 1 1/2 inches, a needle and thread and a little bit of stuffing.
Hope to see you on Saturday.
