Weekly Update - February 20, 2016

HI Ladies, Two reminders first:  1 - Next Sat. is Lunch & Learn and it is pot luck... no RSVPs necessary.  Learn will be two demos - origami bag - this little cuties is perfect for the "pillowcase" dresses - and magic business card holder - makes a fun, nice gift for someone.

Attached are the Sewing With Nancy instructional patterns for pillowcase dresses and boys's britches (fyi- girls like the britches, too)

Janey Westra shared her sewing of "pillowcase dresses" which Janey makes using fabric yardage rather than starting with a pillowcase.  Thank you so much for sharing this fun sewing with us.

Show & Tell:

Me - I started show and tell with pillow made from snowball blocks, two-fabric Jump Start Sampler quilt and finished UFO Snippets wallhanging that my older dog decided to chew on after it was done - oh well, she only damaged the back so it will be hung high in my sewing room and just stay there.

Jane Motrinec - Spring wreath - this is a pattern from Quilters World that is very nice to work thru.  We definitely could do something like this in our timeframe and it could be altered to be another season.  Jane also made a lot of little bunny stuffies and even couple bears!!

Janey Westra - I spy quilt - child's apron and pot holder mitt, and THREE childrens' rag quilts for charity

Kathy Franklin - back from her trip - she made another stack of cat hammocks!! and shared great use of bias tape for the corner strips on hammocks!!

Eileen DiSanto - shared quilt top she completed while on her quilting guild chapter's retreat last week.  Can't wait to see this completed with her label.

Lu Karatzas - shared more of family quilt in progress as she echo quilted the hands blocks and is ready to do some quilt-as-you-go finishing now.

Mary Ann Berlin - shared The Wave Purse - this one is terrific pattern from Lazy Girl  and the stacks of PJ pants completed by she and Ellen Hein - I believe it was 38 in all!!!!

Ladies, we are running out of demos scheduled in upcoming month(s) so I'm taking opportunity to again encourage you to consider sharing a technique or favorite pattern you have.  The new one location for demos in room is really working out well, and we can all take a turn.

Have a good week, as always, God bless all.
