Weekly Update - October 31, 2015

There was a lot going on this week, so we are a little behind on posting the show & tell photos.  I have finally finished editing them and got Micki's notes last night, so here is your Halloween update.

Hi Ladies, It was an honor today to celebrate the life of lovely lady, Kay Flanagan, today with a beautiful bunch of our club's members.  Included here is the picture of all of us together just after Kay's wonderful memorial service.

Show & Tell last Saturday was the usual terrific projects you all keep producing every week.
B.J. Herter showed a fall wall hanging.

Pat Pipa showed her latest charity quilts and stuffed bears.

Sue Campbell - pillowcases
Joan Thomas - Her gorgeous Double Vision Wal Art is finished and turned out beautifully.  Joan took on challenges each step of the process to make this wallhanging, and it is so rewarding to see how beautiful her project finished!!

Mary Naz(giewicz) - 6 pillowcases and tablerunner with coasters - nice work!

Lu Karatzas - music quilt - beautifully made snowball blocks, doggy bed

Alice Meunier - bags - charity quilt, table runner

Bev Minnerly - Doll clothes that adorn the dolls that are given to fire departments and police stations that they are able to give children encountered during the times of stressful situations they are called in for.

Lois Rose - pumpkins,, owl, quilt, and embroidery projects - whew!

Eileen DiSanto - owl
Ellen Hein - T towel bibs and bags - these are so wonderful to make up
Linda Parr - charity quilt!

Nancy Cartlidge -  table runners and charity quilt top made by Joann Colin who is currently up north.

Joann is away and still working on our charitable projects, and she got another bunch of fleece sent to her to make up a couple more blankets - that's truly wonderful of you!!

Brenda Severa - Halloween towels, table topper and wallhanging - whew!

Eileen Navikas - quilts and a demo on how to make an antique fabric ball

Carol Riggs - shared Christmas crafts that she purchased at Leesburg marketplace.

Ladies, projects I want to mention that will be sort of ongoing for a few weeks that I'll keep patterns, instructions, and the demo stages available.  They are (1) Boys/Girls PJ bottoms and ideas for tops (including britches from t-shirts), (2) Sweatshirt Conversion(s), and (3) 60 degrees ruler table runners (these work really well with border print fabrics), (4) fabric books for children from scratch.

This coming Saturday - NO SHOW & TELL this coming Saturday - Nov. 14th.  We'll start off meeting with Linda Parr's memory pillow demo.  Then we'll look at the PJ bottoms and ideas for tops along with britches from t-shirts.  There will be material to cut out using the patterns and it will be terrific to have ladies to help with that, and ladies who will be sewing up the pj bottoms as they get cut out.  And as always, we can take home fabrics, patterns, or cut out PJ's to sew up at home.
I will have projects 2, 3 and 4 above there with the instructions, but I don't plan to do those demos (formally) until Nov. 21st.

Lunch & Learn - Nov. 28th - no turkey!!

As always, have a wonderful week and God bless all Y'all.

RIP Mary Catherine Theresa Smith Flanagan,
